The objective
Accumulate the most points over your league's full season (default: NFL Weeks 1 through 18). The player with the highest point total at the end of the final week wins the league.
Points come from your weekly team picks. When your team wins, you score their final point total. When they lose, you score zero. No one is ever eliminated -- every player competes all season.
Weekly picks
Each player makes one pick per week -- one team.
The deadline is before the first game of that week kicks off. After kickoff, no picks or changes are accepted for that week.
Teams on bye cannot be picked that week. The pick interface automatically hides bye teams.
If you miss the deadline, you receive 0 points for that week. The missed week does NOT use up a team slot -- all remaining teams stay available.
Whether you can change your pick before the deadline depends on your commissioner's setting for the league.
The one-team rule
This is the core strategic rule of the game and cannot be changed.
Each player may only pick any given team ONCE per season.
All 32 NFL teams are available at the start of the season.
Once you use a team, it is locked for the rest of the season. You cannot pick that team again.
Used teams appear greyed out in your pick grid.
The rule applies per league. If you are in two different leagues, you can pick the same team in both.
A missed week does not consume a team slot. Your full unused pool carries forward.
Scoring
Correct pick (your team wins): you score the winning team's final point total. Example -- you pick the Lions, they win 28 to 7. You earn 28 points.
Wrong pick (your team loses): 0 points. No penalty beyond the missed score.
Missed pick (no pick submitted): 0 points for the week.
Tied game: depends on your league's tied game setting, set by the commissioner. Options are: counts as a win (full points), counts as a loss (0 points), or half points awarded.
All scoring is based on the official final score of the game. Overtime counts.
Standings and tiebreakers
Standings are sorted using the following rules, applied in order:
Most total points wins outright (Step 1).
If tied on points: fewest zero-point weeks wins (Step 2). Losses, missed picks, and tie-ruled-as-loss all count equally as a zero-point week.
If still tied after Step 2: the prize splits equally among tied players. No further tiebreakers.
These tiebreaker rules are the same in every league and cannot be changed by commissioners.
Commissioner settings
Commissioners control three settings for their league, set at creation and locked once the league activates:
Pick changes: ON means players can change their pick any time before the deadline. OFF means the first submission is final.
Missed pick rule: zero points only (default), automatic loss recorded, or player is eliminated from the league.
Tied game rule: counts as a win (full points), counts as a loss (0 points), or half points awarded.
Season and roster rules
The default NFL season runs Weeks 1 through 18. Commissioners can set a custom start and end week.
Players may join a league any time before the first kickoff of the league's start week.
Once the first game of the start week kicks off, the roster is permanently locked. No new players can join.
Playoffs are not included. Regular season weeks only.
Cancelled and postponed games
If a game is postponed to a later date, the pick carries over automatically. You do not need to resubmit.
If a game is cancelled entirely with no reschedule, no points are awarded for that pick and the team is returned to your available pool.
Mathematical elimination
No player is ever officially eliminated from the league -- everyone plays all season. However, the leaderboard will display a "mathematically eliminated" notice if a player's maximum possible remaining points cannot overtake the current leader. This is informational only. The player continues to play and submit picks.
